Dinamo Kiex - Rubin Kazan
Dinamo Kiev host Rubin Kazan. Playing in Kiev is never easy and even though Rubin Kazan are doing really well in the Russian league, I would still back a home win here. They are deep into their season, while Dinamo are 6 games into theirs, meaning they should not have their players performing at optimum levels. 1-0 or 2-0.
Olympiacos - AZ Alkmaar
Olympiacos host AZ Alkmaar. Going to Greece is always a difficult task and Olympiacos have a decent home record. AZ seem hot and cold away and either seem to win or lose but this is a different competition from the Eredivisie. I think Olympiacos will win this 2-0 or 2-1.
Inter Milaan - Barcelona
Inter host Barcelona in what is the pick of the night. Samuel Eto'o has said that he wants to make Barcelona pay (more the manager) for not liking him for no reason. Inter like to keep it tight at home but they haven't hit top form yet. Ibrahimovic also returns to his former home which just adds further interest to this tie. It's a game to rather watch than bet. If I had to call it I would go for a draw.
Liverpool - Debrecen
Liverpool host Debrecen in a game which you can only see one outcome and that is a home win. They have more than enough Champions League experience and especially being at home - they should have no problems here. Similar situation to Atletico last night, except I really don't
see Liverpool making a meal of this and they should win comfortably. 2-0 or 3-0 in my opinion.
Standard Luik - Arsenal
Arsenal travel to Belgium to face Standard Liege. Last year Standard were excellent in their ties against Liverpool if anybody remembers that - and they pushed them all the way until extra time at Anfield. However since then, they have lost a few players. 90% of people on first view would tip an Arsenal win, however.. Liege have not lost at home since December 2008... however they wouldn't have come up against a side like Arsenal many times either.
Lyon - Fiorentina
Lyon host Fiorentina. Lyon have started their season very well and theyre on a long string of wins. Fiorentina started with a few draws and they too have started winning. These two met last season in Europe and this exact tie ended 2-2. A draw wouldn't surprise me but I do however, see a home win this time instead. 2.18 odds are decent. If not, a LAY on Fiorentina may be worth the risk (3.90).
Sevilla - Unirea Urziceni
Sevilla host a team that I really know very little about (Unirea Urziceni). This game presents a similar situation to the Atletico game last night where you'd expect 3 or 4 quite easily, however I won't be using this as a selection even though Muprhys law may come into play and because we are leaving this one out - it's going to end 3-0 or 4-0!
Stuttgard - Glasgow Rangers
Stuttgart host Rangers in a group where a side like Rangers will really fancy their chances of progressing. They met in 2007 and both sides won their respective home games. Stuttgart are blowing hot and cold. They win 4-2 one week then lose 3-0 the next week. Last two games at home have been 0-0 while rangers also had a 0-0 on the weekend. Tough game to call but I'd side with the home side here. Maybe Rangers can sneak a 1-1 but I'd rather side with 2-0 or 2-1.
