Chelsea - Porto
Chelsea host Porto at Stamford Bridge. It's a game you would expect Chelsea to win. They are missing Drogba and Bosingwa but I don't think this will be a problem. Nicolas Anelka should take Drogbas role. Another reason I think Chelsea will have the upper hands is due to the fact that Carlo Ancelotti's biggest trait at Milan.. was how well he did in the Champions League. Porto have lost a few players so that won't help their cause, but I expect a home win here. 2-0 or 2-1.
Manchester United - Besiktas
Man United travel away to Turkey to face Beskitas. Now this is always a tough place to go. It's still a game you would expect Man United to come through considering their Champions League experience and the way they are playing of late. Not a game I would be betting on but I
do think they'll win 1-2 or 1-3.
Juventus - Bordeaux
Juventus are at home to Bordeaux and they are without Diego. Bordeaux have been in brilliant form so far this season and it has continued since last season as well. This is another game you would expect the home side to come through, but with the mentality Bordeaux currently have (a non losing one), you just can't rule them out sneaking a draw. Juventus are at 1.64. If i had to select a scoreline I would go 2-0 or 2-1 though.
Atletico - Apoel Nicosia
Atletico Madrid host another shock Cypriot team to join the Champions League similar to Anorthosis last season. They knocked out Copenhagen in the qualification rounds. However, away in Spain and at a side like Atletico, I don't see them getting anything. They will most probably
sit back, which won't exactly suite the Spanish side, but if they get one early (And they have more than enough quality to do so), then the score could easily be 3 or 4.
AC Milan - Marseille
AC Milan travel to France to face Marseille. This is a tricky game to call. AC MIlan lost their head coach, their best player as well as their captain all in one go in the summer.. and you can see how they are now struggling in Serie A. Marseille have been decent at home so far and they had a decent draw against Bordeaux on the weekend. Tough call but I'd have to say a draw or side with the home side. 1-1 or 1-0.
Real Madrid - FC Zurich
Real Madrid travel to FC Zurich. With the squad of stars Real have, you would expect them to win this. Zurich will take the game to them seeing they're at home. If Real Madrid defend even half decently then they should win this game just by 'outscoring' the opposition.
Bayern Munchen - CSKA Moskow
In the other two games, Bayern face a tough task having to travel to Maccabi Haifa. Bayern however, do have Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery who will always be dangerous on the counter attacks in a game like this. If their defense keeps it tight they're going to eventually score so
I'd tip them for a win even though it is a very difficult fixture to travel to. Wolfsburg face CSKA Moscow. This too is a game you expect the home side to come through. Wolfsburg haven't had the greatest start to their season and CSKA are in the middle of theirs.
